God's Righteousness: The Only Path to Salvation and Eternal Life

We need to be clothed in that righteousness which is secured for us by the perfect life of our Lord Jesus Christ. Justification is an act of God's free grace wherein he pardons all our sins and accepts us as righteous in his sight only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us and received by faith alone. So if you listen to that or you think through that or hopefully you meditate upon that because it's a great summary of biblical teaching concerning justification by faith. There are twin blessings involved. The forgiveness of sins and the imputation of righteousness. So we need to be cleansed in the precious blood of our of the lamb. But we need a righteousness that avails with God. We need to be clothed in that righteousness which is secured for us by the perfect life of our Lord Jesus Christ. That's what God demands. As if we think the God that is holy, as the psalmist confesses, as everywhere the Bible confesses, is going to say, "Well, you know, you did your best."
