Do you think a mingling of Jesus and a m a mangling of you is going to somehow produce a righteousness that avails with God? It's Christ or nothing. That's the nature of his explanation in chapter 3 at verse 9. So when he says what he says at the end of verse 8 that I may gain Christ and then into verse 9 and be found in him he understands all too well that the demands of the law upon him were not met by him.
