Hosea 3 presents the redemption of Gomer by her husband Hosea as a typological mirror of Christ's redemption of His people from the bondage of sin. God's love for His adulterous people is unconditional not because covenantal conditions go unmet, but because He meets those conditions Himself — the wages of sin is death, and Christ pays that price in full. The sermon calls believers to faithful perseverance in the betrothal period between justification and glorification, and urges the unconverted to flee from the bondage of sin to the Savior who offers full and free salvation.
