The Governing Principle of Kingdom Life
Anxiety is not a private struggle but a theological failure — a contradiction of the sovereignty of God confessed in the pew but abandoned in the heart. Expounding Matthew 6:25–34, this sermon works through Christ's fourfold structure in the Sermon on the Mount: the command not to worry, the indictment of those who do, the contrast between Gentile anxiety and covenant-child confidence, and the governing principle that kingdom life is regulated by seeking first God's kingdom and righteousness. The sermon closes with eight dangerous fruits of worry and a call to trust that the God who is absolutely sovereign in salvation is equally sovereign over food, clothing, and every daily crisis.
