Jim Renihan · 2024-12-09 · 119 words · 1 min

um let's start with the Apostles Creed now the Apostles Creed seems to have been a baptismal Creed which was the norm in the early church the person being baptized would recite a Creed at baptism and they based this uh practice on Romans 1089 verses we've already noted uh today if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead you will be saved it was believed that that confession was to be made at baptism but it wasn't simply saying Jesus is Lord rather it was acknowledging the fullness of truth that is expressed in the word of God and confessed by the apostles themselves
