so yeah Pastor Mike uh we have Dr Jim renan coming up I guess how do you know him what is he passionate about what is he gifted in what's been your experience with him so I got my uh master of divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary California and uh it was at that time uh that what is now the international reform Baptist Seminary where Dr renahan is the president uh that is now in Texas uh but that was in California as a sub school with Westminster was called The Institute of Reform Baptist studies so I had five classes with Dr renahan uh I remember talking with my fellow students we all agreed that those were our favorite classes uh different uh subject matter uh but Ministry of the word so philosophy of ministry uh Baptist distinctives doctrine of the church and then uh probably one of my favorites was uh Baptist history as well as uh um a class on the confession of Faith but uh I think Dr renahan he was great in every one of those classes but the one particular area we knew he shined was Baptist history he just has a command uh of the history of the Baptists both particular and general uh he has an understanding he would just kind of stop mid sort of lecture and he would step away from his notes and you could just see that command of of of History command of of the Baptist and their understanding and their theology the other classes were fantastic as well but I think he really shined uh when he's talking about the history of the Baptist and always appreciate his courses and his a lot of what he said still is with me today even when I teach and preach and it comes out and so I'm very thankful for my time with Dr renan yeah I look forward to hearing him I have not heard him at all yet I've heard about him through through both of you and book so be good and then I guess his family he's one of his sons is also a pastor two of them two of them okay I know if um if Jim's father was Al also a pastor or might have been a first generation I can't remember yeah I don't remember but uh so yeah tell me about Sam I guess he guess he's coming next year as well for a conference yeah yeah we've already booked chapter 2 uh we've got doors James dolza and Samuel renahan that will be treating chapter 2 so yeah so Sam is the pastor of the Trinity reform Baptist Church in lamara California yeah and then the other his brother Jim's other son that's a pastor is Micah renahan in Brunswick Brunswick Maine yes very cold very cold okay
